Morocco announces 207 new COVID-19 cases, 481,155 in total

RABAT, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) — Morocco announced on Sunday 207 new COVID-19 cases, taking the tally in the North African country to 481,155.

The total number of recoveries from COVID-19 in Morocco increased to 464,664 after 621 more were added, while the death toll rose to 8,554 with six new fatalities during the last 24 hours, with 417 still in in intensive care units, according to the Moroccan health ministry.


The ministry also announced 21 new cases of the mutant strains of COVID-19 found in Britain and other countries, raising its total number in Morocco to 24.

The COVID-19 variants found in South Africa and Brazil have not been detected in Morocco yet, the ministry said.
