GUANGZHOU, June 30 (Xinhua) — Guangzhou Evergrande striker Anderson Talisca has tested negative for COVID-19 after returning to China, the Chinese Super League club said on Tuesday.
Talisca flew back to China from Brazil via London on a chartered plane on Sunday and had his first test on Monday.
According to COVID-19 containment regulations, the 26-year old is required to go through two tests during a 14-day mandatory quarantine.
The Brazilian was Evergrande’s third-highest scorer with 11 goals in 18 matches in the 2019 CSL season. His teammate and countryman Paulinho returned to China two weeks ago and will finish his quarantine on Wednesday.
The 2020 Chinese Super League campaign, which had been due to start on February 22, has been delayed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, with rumors suggesting it will begin in July.
