The cherry-producing companies of the Middle Valley have already started harvesting and packing the fruit. Facundo Fernandez, the Secretary of Rio Negro’s Fruit Production, and Juan Accatino, the Director of Production of Chimpay, in the province of Rio Negro, toured the facilities to assess the situation of migrant workers and the operation of the productive patrols.
“The conditions of the Middle Valley to produce cherries are optimal. We have the land and the climate to grow them, and there is a very interesting projection in demand,” Fernandez said.
The companies and the state committed to working together on a strategy to lower tariffs and open new trade agreements.
Different agencies of the provincial government have been working together for months so that the harvest, of cherries all other productions, can be carried out in a timely manner, following all protocols to take care of the workers and the community.
